Brief Description
Shalom Arts first organized the First Public Arts Award in 2007, and continued organizing the Second Public Arts Award in 2009. Based on our experience, we combine our expertise in public art and public relations to promote the Third Public Arts Award. The installation finished date range from 2007 to 2010. There are 130 projects in the competition and 25 artworks were selected in total, including Dancing Feathers at Luzhou Station in Taipei Metro Luzhou Line, and BIGPOW at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei. Through these artworks, the space has transformed to a more dynamic and artistic landscape.
Execution Process
The scope of solicitation for the third public art award is based on the public art established in accordance with the public art installation method from 1996 to 1999 in the Republic of China. In addition to the three-stage selection process of primary selection, secondary selection, and final selection, in order to be able to master the works Features, the selection committee visited the installation site to survey the shortlisted works, and after in-depth dialogues with art creators, organizing agencies, and curators, they voted to select the best winners.
And in the "Third Public Art Award Ceremony" held on September 24, 2011, Vice President Wu Dunyi presented the "Excellence Award", "Best Planning Award", "Best Creative Performance Award", "Best Environment Seven awards including "Integration Award", "Best Public Participation Award", "Best Education Promotion Award", "Best Popularity Award".
The "Best Excellence Award" was awarded to the Taipei City Government Transit Bureau.
