Brief Description
Shalom Arts team plans this project with the theme of “Gateway to Health • Window to the Soul”. We installed two sculptures in the Ministry of Health and Welfare; one is located at the lawn of the entrance, another is on the fountain.
Yu Deng-Chuan’s artwork Window to the Soul illustrates children playing seesaw delightfully. At the same time, it presents both stable and dynamic characteristics, with internal/external, light/heavy, and virtual/realistic elements. It also embodies the elements of balanced body and mind, which are essential to a healthy life.
Yang Po-Lin uses three connected gateways to produce a work entitled Gateway to Health that highlights the inter-connectivity of blood vessels in the human body. This symbolizes the ministry’s wide-ranging responsibilities, while also emphasizing the indispensable nature of a healthy body, healthy mind and social harmony.
