Shuinan Economic Park Taichung Central Park Public Art Project (Part A)

Responding to the Taichung City Shuinan Economic Park Taichung Central Park’s design goals of low carbon, smart and ecology, Shalom’s team has planned 9 artworks under the theme of 《Sustainability Trilogy》. Other than being in harmony with the surrounding natural environment and adding beauty, these artworks make the public spaces of Taichung Central Park healthier and more comfortable, reaching the goal of symbiosis with the environment.

The public art installations can be divided into northern, central and southern zones. The northern zone includes the noiseKitchen’s 《Ｗater Pump Pump》, installed in the green space near the Shuinan Bus Terminal on the shore of Matcha Lake. Additionally, GOOD Object Design’s 《Retrospect》responds to the old airport runway in the area. The central zone includes artist Tak-Leong Kou’s 《Coordinate Series-Glowing Blossom》and《Fluidic Light》, New Zealand artist Phil Price’s《Floating Petals》, Yun-Shan Lee’s 《Eternal Spring is in Shuinan》 in the large regulating pond, and Dutch new media artist team The New Raw’s 《Doh-lounge》. The southern zone’s green area near the parking garage entrance, which is also home to cherry trees is the location for the installation of UxU Studio’s 《Retrospect》. Nearby is American artist Stacy Levy’s 《Avian Horticulture》.
