Brief Description

The National Defense Medical Center is a rather lovely lush and green biomedical park, as there are many shady lawns and gardens everywhere across the landscape, along with flowers and trees; visibly showing the care of the maintenance and management through the hospital. Shalom Arts team invited three artists to create artworks for the public art project “Love of Blossom- Garden of Delight”.

Artist Li-Hsing Chen create a large-scale sculpture entitled Love of Blossom, installing at the entrance of Tri-Service General Hospital. This artwork depicts flower blooming to present the warm passion and enthusiasm of all the healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, etc. The three petals also serve as a metaphors of doctors, nurses, and patients working together in the medical field, praying the patient to recover soon.

Shen-Min Jian’s artwork Guide & Support Installed in the entrance of the National Defense Medical Center. The artwork portrays three persons holding their hands, meaning that the teacher and student from the center are learning from each other. Through the void and the solid space, this artwork is like three people dancing the Waltz in harmony.

The public event Joyful Garden points to the National Defense Medical Center’s dedication to research, as well as the fruitful medical outcomes. It also shows that numerous patients recover to the vitality of life after the diagnosis and treatment through the National Defense Medical Center.
