Brief Description

Tainan City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau commissions Shalom Arts team for planning the Tainan Art Museum Public Art Installation Project. Through the thorough planning of the curatorial team, Shalom Arts team and its four distinguished local and international artists were hand-selected by the committee members to be the fulcrum of the Tainan Art Museum Public Art Project. Four artists, including the pioneer of domestic abstract sculpture, Lee Tsai-chien, the winner of the National Craft Award, ceramicist Su Shi Xiong, the Japanese fog artist Fujiko Nakaya, and the Israeli cut-out-steel sculptor and painter David Gerstein, created a constellation of compelling installations of, among other things, ephemeral fog sculpture, abstract sculpture, realistic, "butterfly" installation art, and a large-scale glazed ceramic mural. These are the centerpieces of what promises to be a memorable premier collection for the public spaces of the Tainan Art Museum.
